Packaging
Packaging must meet the requirement that food be protected from quality-diminishing environmental influences (such as light, micro-organisms, gases, steam, aroma substances, moisture) and that such protection be guaranteed all along the route from the manufacturer to the consumer. Packaging must also have as little effect on the food (and vice versa) as possible. A pertinent EU regulation is in the works.
